At Esperero Canyon Middle School, our counseling program plays a vital role in supporting student success. Our counselors are highly trained educators who work closely with teachers, administrators, families, and community members to identify student needs, remove barriers to learning, and help students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for lifelong success. We’re proud to share that Britney Griffith, one of our exceptional counselors, was named Arizona School Counselor of the Year.
Esperero Canyon Middle School’s 8th Grade National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students took hands-on learning to the next level as they partnered with the Watershed Management Group (WMG) for an environmental restoration project at Sabino Canyon Visitor Center. Under the guidance of science teacher Casey Virgil and Becky Fitzpatrick of Watershed Management Group, students built one-rock dams to mitigate erosion, capture rainwater, and support the desert ecosystem.
